I grew up on a hippie commune in the Missouri Ozark Mountains. My mom played the piano and sang. My dad played the guitar and sang. My old brother Bill played the guitar, bass, drums and keyboards. He was s singer as well. I was introduced to a lot of good music at an early age. I got my start young with playing guitar when I was 9 years old. I was in and variety of different bands and music projects until I met mark in 1998 when we started this band (Vacant Excuses). Which has lasted 3 states, 5 apartments, 4 houses, 23 break up-s, 4 line up changes and a dog named Tama. Now here we are 9 years later, armed with a band ass drummer (Chuck) and an amazingly talented female vocalist, keyboardist (Kube) . Making music because that is what we love to do. It has been a wonderful journey filled with good times, countless friendships and many adventures of which I would change none.

I was born and raised in the Pacific NorthWest. My family was extremely close and all of my childhood memories involve music. My Grandad, who played the banjo, guitar, piano, fiddle and harmonica, entertained and educated us every chance he got. I would say that I owe all of my musical abilities to him and his passion that he handed down.

I can't remember ever wanting to do anything other than music for a living. I've always known that for an absolute fact. It's the only thing I've ever been 100% sure of. I was always singing and entertaining. Weather it be the National Anthem for sporting or political events, full sets at fairs and festivals, or just singing into a hairbrush for my family, I always sang.

My earlier influences were stars like, Cindy Lauper, Madonna, and Whitney Houston, but when I reached adolescence and became fascinated with classic rock, I grew obsessivly fond of bands and artists like Mama Cass, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, and especially Janis Joplin.

My parents moved us from Oregon to Denver, Co. when I was in high school. It wasn't until I reached my Twenties that I decided I wanted to find my own band. That's when I met up with Eye of Dawn, a local, heavier rock band. I fronted the band for the better part of a year, learning so much more about music and performing from our amazing guitarist, JJ Jones. He introduced me to other local musicians, Vacant Excuses being among the many. Unfortunatly, JJ's untimely death ended the days of Eye of Dawn. Shortly after, I started jamming and doing open mics with Pat, Mark and Chuck. It was mostly for fun but one night after a show they asked me, actually told me, to join them permanately. The musical chemistry between us to, to me, is magical and I forsee and exciting future for us. Mark, Pat and Chuck are my family and I hope and pray that we will be making music together for the rest of our lives.
